Lantern City

Effective Date: 4 October 2026

Trinath Sai Subhash Reddy Pittala ("we", "us", or "our") built Lantern City as a free rhythm game for children. This Privacy Policy explains what the app stores, what it does not do, and what the one third-party library in it may receive.

1. In one sentence

Lantern City itself does not collect, store, share or sell any personal information. Two things in it talk to the internet: the ad library, which shows short ads picked for children and never personalised, and, only if you choose to sign in, Google Play Games, which keeps your achievements and total scores on your own Play Games profile.

2. What the app stores

Lantern City keeps two small things on your device only: your progress (which stages you have cleared, your best scores and ranks) and your settings (whether music, sound effects and vibration are on).

That information never leaves the device. It is not backed up by us, not synced, not sent to any server, and not visible to anyone else. Deleting the app deletes it. The "Reset progress" option in Settings wipes your progress too.

3. What the app does not do

No account is needed and nothing asks you to sign in; the optional Google Play Games sign-in is described below, and the game is complete without it. No name, email address, age, location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera. No analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking, no purchases and no subscriptions.

The app asks for no permissions. Apart from the ads and the optional Play Games sign-in described below, it makes no network requests of any kind.

4. Ads

The whole game is free. To keep it that way, a short ad may play when you move on from a stage you have cleared, once you have cleared a few. An ad never plays during a stage or on the title screen. Ads are shown by Google AdMob, one of the ad networks Google Play certifies for apps made for children.

Every ad request is marked as directed at children and under the age of consent, is capped at G-rated content, and asks for non-personalised ads only. That means ads are chosen by the game, not by anything about you, and the app never shows a consent or tracking prompt.

Like any ad library, AdMob may receive technical details about the device in order to serve and count an ad: for example the device model, operating system version, language, screen size, a coarse location from the network, and identifiers used to limit how often an ad is shown. Google's own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy describes what it does with that information. We never see it, and we do not collect anything ourselves.

5. Google Play Games (optional)

From the Hall of Records you can sign in to Google Play Games with a Google account. It is optional: nothing in the game needs it, and nothing prompts for it. If you do sign in, Google Play Games records the achievements you earn and your two total scores (story and DJ mode) on your Play Games profile, so they appear on Google's achievements and leaderboards screens and follow you to another device. The app receives your Play Games display name and player id in return and uses them for nothing else; it does not store them.

That profile is Google's, covered by Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can remove this game's data from it at any time in the Google Play Games app, under Settings, Delete Play Games account and data. On a child's account a parent may have Play Games switched off; then the sign-in ticket does nothing and the game carries on unchanged.

6. Children

Lantern City is made for children and is built for them: nothing to buy, no accounts to create, no chat, no user-generated content, no way to contact other people (Play Games leaderboards show only the display names of players who chose to sign in), and no links out to the web except whatever a child might tap inside an ad, which the ad network keeps to child-appropriate content. Ads are requested in the child-directed mode the ad network provides for exactly this.

7. Sound and vibration

The app plays music and sound effects and, on phones, a light vibration on a catch. All three can be switched off in Settings. None of this involves recording anything.

8. Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will ship inside the app under Settings and on this page, with the date above updated. Because the app collects so little, we do not expect it to change much.
